Train booking rule of thumb
Reserved seats open one month before departure. You do not need to book every local train, but the Romancecar and the long-distance legs are worth reserving as their windows open.
Romancecar: reserved seat + separate base fare
The Romancecar reservation pays for the reserved seat and limited-express supplement. Each traveller also needs the ordinary base fare to the destination. At Odakyu Shinjuku Station, use an IC card at the ticket gates or buy a paper base-fare ticket. Shinjuku is the Tokyo terminal for the Odakyu Romancecar.
Adults: each adult can use their own Suica or PASMO card, or a compatible iPhone Suica. Annabelle: use a child-fare Suica/PASMO issued for her, or buy a child base-fare ticket at the station. Bring her passport when asking for a child card at a staffed counter; do not use an adult-fare card for her.

Install and sign in before travel where possible. Park entry passes can be added ahead of time; same-day timed-entry requests happen after you enter the park.
Universal Studios Japan
A Studio Pass is required for park admission. An Express Pass is a separate purchase and does not replace the Studio Pass. A pass that includes Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge, Yoshi’s Adventure or Mine Cart Madness also includes an advance Super Nintendo World entry time; check the pass details for the allocated time. If you don’t have advance entry, add all four Studio Pass QR codes to the app before the visit, then request a same-day Area Timed Entry or Standby Entry ticket for the group after entering the park. Availability can run out, although entry without a timed ticket may be allowed depending on crowd conditions.
